On September 20 we boarded the Coral Princess sometime around 1:00 since we had seen what we could in Vancouver and didn’t want to miss the sailing.
The ship is registered in Bermuda, built in St. Naizare, France and delivered in 2002. The bridge was manned by nine officers with two officers at all times working four hours on, eight hours off. As mandated by marine law, a Canadian pilot came on board to accompany the Captain and crew under the Lions Gate Bridge and out to sea from Vancouver. After the pilot disembarked, and back under Captain Nicolo Binetti’s control, we headed west through Juan De Fuca Strait.
The ship had 12 decks beginning with #4 for embarkation and #5 the first deck for staterooms with portholes. Our stateroom was on the top floor for passengers - Aloha - A337 - which was convenient for Randy when he walked one deck up to get his morning coffee and tea for me at the Horizon Court. Our starboard stateroom had a balcony and we sat out there watching the ocean and the world go by a great deal of the time when not involved in other activities. The deck one up - Lido - is where the fitness center, spa, two pools and poolside grill are located.

There were 1,900+ passengers and about 900 crew members, so the service in all venues was wonderful with about a 2 to 1 ratio.
Our Cabin Boy from the Phillipines, was especially attentive and cheerful. Each time we left our stateroom Moore came by to re-freshen it with clean towels and glasses.
One time the Cabin Boy saw Randy leave the stateroom and thought I was with him since we did not have the "Privacy Please" card in the door. While I was in the shower the door opened and I assumed it was Randy. I stepped out of the shower buck naked right in front of Moore. The young man turned 15 shades of red and apologized profusely.
