September 18-19, 2014 Vancouver, British Columbia
Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver was recommended by our cruise booking agent for its high standards and ideal location. We were able to walk to many places. We purchased a two-day Hop-On, Hop-Off pass for the sight-seeing trolley and took the full ride to get an idea of the layout of the city. This included Stanley Park.
The next day we walked from the hotel to the Ferry taking us to Granville Island. According to the internet, "At one time, Granville Island's official name was Industrial Island. But today, things couldn't be more different. Activity is centred around the Granville Island Public Market, with its bevy of merchants selling seafood, fresh produce, cheese and breads. It's probably one of the best spots in the city for lunch. Grab a seat by the water and watch the little Aquabusand False Creek Ferries shuttle visitors across False Creek."
We found the Public Market especially entertaining, and it reminded us of good times at Las Rombulus in Barcelona, although it is much larger.
